Topic 1:Story #1

• Describe your story idea.

• write 5 questions you want to answer in this story.
• Your NUT GRAF (What the story is all about, and why it matters!)

My story is going to be on the the fire at South Albany High School and what we as a community can do to help out the children. 

The live sources I am using are going to be,

1. Dr. James Reddan, he is the Chair, Faculty of Music and the director of Choral Activities at Linn-Benton community College.
2. Wells Fargo Bank, in Albany, Or.
3. Panda Express and Taco Bell, Managers at both places, in Albany,Or.

 The people I will be talking to matter because they are all helping out the students of SAHS in big ways.

The five questions I will be asking are,

• Why are you compelled to help the students out? 
• Where can you be reached?
• What is your plan of action?
• Who made the decision to help out the students?
• When will the help begin?

I want to write this story because this is such a horrible event that took place in our community. The students that have been affected by this act need to know their community is here for all of them. Help is on the way, they are not alone.

Topic 2: Goals-- What 3 goals do I have for improving my writing, editing, research or journalism skills this term in JN217- Feature Writing?

1. One goal I have is to improve my Leads. I will be working on this, along with my Nut Graf. I have improved though the last term, so I'm sure I will have it by the end of this term.
2. The second thing I will be improving on is my interviewing skills, this is a hard one for me. Talking with people isn't easy when you have high anxiety like I do, but this is a skill I will work hard on to be the best I can be.
3. The third goal I have is to improve on my research skills. This is time consuming and I just need to set aside the proper amount of time needed to do the job well. I will be working on this one too.
